Kim Gladfelter
Owner, Physical Therapist and Pilates Instructor
Kim graduated from UCLA in 1991 with a degree in Kinesiology. She received her Master of Physical Therapy degree in 1994 from Mount Saint Marys College. She completed a 1-1/2 year long residency program in Advanced Orthopedic Manual Therapy in 1998. In 2001 she was certified as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS). She also obtained Fellowship status in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT). Both certifications (OCS and FAAOMPT) represent recognition of advanced clinical proficiency in Orthopedic Physical Therapy practice. In addition to taking numerous long and short-term courses on various topics in Orthopedic Physical Therapy, Kim was a teaching assistant for a very highly regarded year-long course for manual physical therapists from 1999-2001. She is a certified Practitioner in Pilates Rehabilitation, including mat and equipment, through Polestar Education. Kim's hobbies include jogging and dance. She is also the mother of two girls and two boys.
Janet Petarra Perrino
Physical Therapist
Janet possesses a strong base of experience in orthopedic and sports injury treatment. Janet received her undergraduate degrees in Biology and Psychology from Miami University in 1989. She earned her Master of Physical Therapy degree from Temple University in 1995. After graduate school Janet worked for seven years in Chicago with the Loyola University Medical Center treating orthopedic, vestibular, lymphedema, burn, amputee, and neurological disorders. Janet is especially interested in using manual therapy to address orthopedic and sports-related issues. Janet's hobbies include yoga, biking, and backpacking.
Amanda Hochfeld
Physical Therapist
Amanda began dancing when she was four. By age fifteen, she was seeing a physical therapist for injuries attributed to the stress that years of ballet, modern and jazz dance had put on her body. This experience inspired Amanda’s career path, and in 2002 she earned her Bachelor of Kinesiology from San Francisco State University, which was then followed by a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Samuel Merritt College in 2007. She completed her certification as a Stott Pilates Certified instructor in 2010 and has integrated Pilates principles into individual rehabilitation programs. Amanda likes looking at the body as a whole and has a strong interest in wellness and prevention. Outside her professional life, she enjoys Salsa dancing, spending time with family and friends, caring for her dog and a good game of Scrabble.
Janet W. Johnson
Physical Therapist
Janet W. Johnson graduated with a degree in Human Biology from Stanford University in 1977 and completed her master's degree in Physical Therapy at Stanford in 1979. She has a wide variety of experience, having worked in rehabilitation, hand therapy, ergonomics, and orthopedics. She has taught classes on caregiver training, back injury prevention, and repetitive strain injury prevention. She has received training in myofascial therapy, as well as in pelvic floor therapy, treating both men and women with pain and dysfunction. She believes in the importance of patient education to help patients both understand their current treatment and their role in preventing future injuries.
Hobbies include many outdoor activities, such as hiking, rowing, and skiing. Indoors, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading a good book, and creating gifts out of fabric and yarn. She (along with her husband) has raised 3 daughters, one of whom has also become a physical therapist.
Christi Cerna
Pilates Instructor and TRX certified Instructor
Christi has been involved in the fitness industry since the early 1980's when she was teaching water exercise and aerobics classes. She is a Comprehensive Certified Pilates Instructor through Power Pilates, and a Group TRX certified instructor through the TRX San Francisco Training Center. Christi previously taught mat and equipment classes in the South Bay and at San Jose State University. She is also a graduate of De Anza college’s Physical Therapy Assisting program, as well as a certified massage therapist through the National Holistic Institute. In her spare time, she enjoys Pilates workouts in her garage gym and walking & hiking with her bullmastiff. She is currently training for her first full marathon, in January 2011.
Lori Seymour
GYROTONIC®/Pilates Instructor-Teacher Trainer
Lori came to Pilates to rehabilitate a chronic hip injury as a young dancer and swimmer. She obtained her first Pilates certification from the Physical Mind Institute then focused her continuing Pilates education in the areas of gait, scoliosis, osteoporosis, and golf. She also works with various joint and spinal issues. In 2009, Lori finished an apprentice period with master trainer named Kathy Corey and is currently a certifying instructor for Kathy Corey Pilates (used to be West Coast Pilates). Lori found GYROTONIC® in 2000 and fell in love. Since then she has been certified in all aspects of it.
Tanya Baldwin
Pilates/GYROTONIC® Instructor
Tanya is a licensed Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine in private practice. Her background in holistic health and wellness has fueled her interest in, and exploration of, mind-body disciplines. When she discovered Pilates eight years ago she was hooked - and has been a devoted enthusiast ever since. She is a Certified Pilates Instructor through Kathy Corey Pilates (formerly West Coast Pilates) and has also trained with Elizabeth Larkam. She was introduced to Gyrokinesis® a few years ago and went on to become certified in this system as well. She continues to deepen her understanding and experience of both methods and enjoys sharing their benefits with her students. Her teaching style is light-hearted and playful and she strives to make her classes enjoyable and accessible to all who attend.
Vicki Kramer
Feldenkrais® Instructor
Vicki has been teaching Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement® lessons since 1994. Originally Vicki was introduced to the Feldenkrais Method by her physical therapist after two back surgeries for a congenital problem. So effective were the Feldenkrais lessons for her rehabilitation, Vicki joined the four year required professional training program. As it has been for herself, Vicki feels the Feldenkrais Method is a very important mind/body alternative health care method which can be part of anyone's program of rehabilitation, fitness or self development. Vicki lives in Saratoga and enjoys swimming, dancing and watching her husband and 14 year old son play ice hockey.
Hao Le
Personal Trainer
Hao is a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) certified Personal Trainer. She has provided personal training services corporate fitness centers such as Cisco, Apple, and Yahoo. Hao loves to help people achieve their fitness goals through personalized exercise programs appropriate to each individual's specific needs. Her guidance ensures that clients’ strength, stamina, balance and flexibility are safely and effectively enhanced in fun and challenging ways.
Michaela Andronic
Massage Therapist
Michaela is a certified massage therapist who has taken extensive training in a variety of massage techniques, including pressure point, Swedish, deep tissue, shiatsu, and sports massage. She has been performing massage therapy since 1994 and has many loyal clients in the Bay Area. Michaela is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association and is passionate about the work that she does.
Agnes Hendrie
Pilates/Bodywork Instructor
Agnes brings to PhysioFit eight years of experience in the fields of wellness, rehabilitation, bodywork and fitness. She was trained in Ontario, Canada as a Massage Therapist. During her intensive two year training program, she acquired in-depth knowledge of our bodies' optimal structure and function. Here in California, Agnes continues to specialize in movement therapy, becoming a Comprehensive Pilates Instructor. She is dedicated to enhancing people's quality of life through movement education, and practice by attuning them to their natural body design.
Her expertise lies in her hand-on support, her eye for problematic movement patterns, and her clear, gentle teaching style. Her background enables her to work with you and your clinician to move you towards freedom from physical pain and more ease in daily living.
Outside of work, Agnes loves movement of all kinds. She is an avid hiker and trail runner. She loves ballet and salsa dancing, as well as yoga. Agnes has been a musician all her life, and playing classical piano music is her current passion
MaryAnn Brasesco
Registered Dietitian
MaryAnn has been a registered dietitian since 1985 when she completed her clinical internship at Oregon Health Science University in Portland, Oregon. Prior to that, she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition and Food Science from Cal Poly University, San Luis Obispo. MaryAnn is a dedicated nutrition educator. She has worked for the Dairy Council of California, and currently works for Oak Knoll Elementary School as a nutrition educator and SportVelo Coaching as a sports dietitian. She works with a variety of nutrition specialties ranging from sports nutrition, weight loss, and hypertension, to GI conditions and children’s nutrition. MaryAnn is an avid cyclist, a board member of the Silicon Valley Bike Coalition, and enjoys spending time with her husband and kids.
